C. Four kinds of medicines:
1. those that help prevent illness
2. those that fight pathogens
3. those that relieve pain
4. those that manage conditions
D. Those that prevent disease:
*** vaccines injected into body
1. those like tetanus or for a flu
must be given "yearly"
2. some like rabies last longer
E. Fighting pathogen germs:
1. Antibiotics -destroy bacteria

2. Some will give side-effects:
allergies occur for some
3. Some will loose their affects,
and the medicine will stop
working.

4. Antivirals and antifungals:

C. Some combinations of 2 medicines will boost the
affect that ONE medicine could not do.
D. Tolerance = when the body becomes used to the medicine or drug/ then the med won t work or you will
